Scope and Contents

Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Hugo Odhner in Toronto, ON, Canada. Pendleton officially offers Odhner a teaching position at the Academy with a salary of $3600 per annum. As part of the Academy, Pendleton hopes Odhner will accept the position as Mr. Iungerich’s move to Pittsburgh will leave a wide gap. As Bishop of the General Church, Pendleton is saddened by the prospect of Odhner leaving pastoral work for teaching. Yet he hopes Odhner will continue to preach in Bryn Athyn from time to time, and he feels that either Mr. Gill or Mr. Gyllenhaal would be a good replacement for Odhner’s current position as Pastor of the Toronto Society. Pendleton suggests that Odhner present his resignation to his pastoral Council and the Toronto Society before accepting this offer. Names mentioned: Mr. (Eldred) Iungerich, Mr. (Fred) Gyllenhaal, Mr. (Alan) Gill
