Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Hugo Odhner, 1927-09-13
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Hugo Odhner in Toronto, ON, Canada. Pendleton approves of the program Odhner has put together for the Toronto Assembly, except for the scheduling of Holy Supper during the afternoon. He requests that Holy Supper be moved to either the morning or the evening, writing, “The morning is best because of freshness of mind and sensitive reception. The evening is fitting on the ground of historic setting and representation. Also, I think that most minds are brighter in the evening than in the afternoon.” Pendleton also discusses the appropriate use of offerings resulting from Assembly services. While he does not think it inappropriate that some funds should be reserved for the General Church, he believes that the majority should be given directly to the priests. Pendleton notes that he enjoyed reading Odhner’s recent article in the Life on Kleen’s animadversions.
