Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Richard Morse in Sydney, Australia. Pendleton has received Morse’s letter of October 15th, and the enclosed baptism records have been turned over to Mrs. Rennels. In response to Morse’s remarks about the Depression in Australia, Pendleton writes, “The danger, wherever the depression is felt, is to find some political cure-all. The dole is called for here by some, as the right way out, but so far, if I am correctly informed, even our Federation of Labor is opposed to it.” Both the Academy and the General Church have been forced to make widespread salary cuts and reduce activities in an attempt to balance their budgets.
