 Item
Identifier: RG.004.01

Scope and Contents

Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Eldred Edward Iungerich in Paris, France. Pendleton was glad to receive Iungerich’s letter from Paris and to learn that he was well received upon arrival. Pendleton writes about upcoming visits from family members in the next few weeks. Regarding preaching, he remarks, “Sometimes I wish that we were more like the disciples in the matter of speaking at the time as the Lord gives. You (Iungerich) appear to have that faculty more than some of us; or is it a notable memory? In either case, the gift seems to be confined to a few.” Willis Gladish has recently returned for a trip to St. Petersburgh, FL, for the purpose of restoring his health; Although he seemed recovered, Pendleton has heard that the outlook is less optimistic since his return to Bryn Athyn. The Church continues to suffer under the effects of the depression, and Pendleton finds it difficult to see an end in sight. Names mentioned: Will Caldwell, Gabriel (Pitcairn Pendleton), Willard (Pendleton), Willis Gladish
