Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Eldred Edward Iungerich in Johnstown, PA, USA. Pendleton was relieved to learn from Iungerich’s letter that he had decided to step down as Pastor of the Pittsburgh society prior to receiving Pendleton’s last letter in which he suggested this action be taken. Pendleton advises, “There is certainly no ‘interdict’ on the use of the Cathedral for the service you have in mind, but in view of the sensational publicity which has followed the announcement of your engagement, I feel that a quiet home wedding would be protective.” Names mentioned: Mrs. (Viola Wolcott) Rennels, Bishop (N.
