Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Eldred Edward Iungerich, 1931-04-24
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Eldred Edward Iungerich in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. Pendleton discusses the case of an Academy student, Miss Kintner, who was dismissed from school. The head of the girls dormitory, Miss Dorothy Burnham, notified Pendleton that Kintner was not completing her required scholarship work. When Pendleton sent Kintner a letter, her response convinced him that she was not in a stable mental state and needed to be sent home as the dorm was not equipped to help her. Upon reading the letter, George DeCharms was also convinced that she was “hysterically irresponsible.” Pendleton stands in support of Miss Burnham, who has come under criticism for her handling of the affair. Pendleton is glad to know that Iungerich has been in close contact with Miss Kintner and her family. Names mentioned: Dorothy (Burnham), George (DeCharms)
