Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Eldred Edward Iungerich, 1929-11-12
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Eldred Edward Iungerich. Pendleton acknowledges Iungerich’s letter of Nov. 4th. Pendleton approves of Iungerich’s suggestion with regard to A.P. Lindsay. Pendleton believes Lindsay would be right for the job. Pendleton informs Iungerich that there will be a joint meeting next week of the Council of Ministers and the Executive Committee to determine the dates for the next Assembly. Pendleton confesses that he is not disappointed at the delay of the dedication of the new church building in Pittsburgh; He has just retuned from a long trip and is not eager to travel again. Pendleton is interested in Iungerich’s suggestions for the dedication, and he agrees with Iungerich that the ritual should make a distinction between the episcopal and the pastoral office. For this purpose, Pendleton suggests that the Bishop might receive the key to the Church and then hand it over to the pastor. Names mentioned: Alexander P. Lindsay
