Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Eldred Edward Iungerich, 1929-05-31
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Eldred Edward Iungerich in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. Due to scheduling conflicts, it will not be possible for Pendleton to be in Pittsburgh until after June 16th. He plans to remain in Pittsburgh through Sunday the 23rd, on which day he will preach and administer Holy Supper. Pendleton suggests he arrive in Pittsburgh on the 18th as he would like to discuss details of the laying of the cornerstone before the ceremony on the 19th. Pendleton writes that the stone should be dedicated with a “brief formula” after being lowered into place. Pendleton also suggests singing, reading of scripture, and prayer as part of the cornerstone ceremony. Pendleton sees no reason why the pastor of the society may not perform this ceremony, but he is willing to perform it himself if desired.
