Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Eldred Edward Iungerich, 1928-11-05
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Eldred Edward Iungerich in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. Pendleton discusses his thoughts on representations/correspondences of parts of the worship service; “It is impossible for me to object to the statement that the Word should be present with the elements. It may be said that It is present at every point of the chancel where the action is focused. The question is as to whether It should be represented as being present at these points, derivatively from the alar of the open Word, and this by a more or less constant turning to that alar.” Pendleton has spoken with Alex (P. Lindsay) and Mr. (Harold Thorp) Carswell about the construction of the new church building in Pittsburgh; The lot presents difficulties for achieving the correct orientation of the building. Names mentioned: Alex (P. Lindsay), Mr. (Harold Thorp) Carswell
