Scope and Contents

Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Eldred Edward Iungerich in Bryn Ahtyn, PA, USA. General Church letterhead. A second typed copy attached. Handwritten copy also attached. Pendleton engages in a doctrinal debate with Iungerich about the Lord’s glorification and the nature of spiritual matter as presented in the Principia. Pendleton writes, “Is it fully satisfactory to you to see the spiritual as simply a rapid orbital movement of a material unit, say of third finites? . . . I do believe these units to be moved in their orbits by the spiritual or the Divine force derived, and that in its orbital circumvolution the unit or finite does outline and if you please, enclose the active spiritual. Is this a difference without a distinction to your mind?” A comment in postscript from Pendleton’s secretary, Freda Pendleton, notes that she signed it for the Bishop as he had to leave before it was ready.
