Scope and Contents

Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Fernand Hussenet. Handwritten French copy attached, most likely translated by Mr. or Mrs. Eldred Iungerich. Pendleton has received Hussenet’s letter of Nov. 24th with enclosed membership applications for Dr. and Mrs. Boyesen and two of Hussenet’s children, Elie and Olivia. Pendleton hopes Hussenet’s missionary work will bring favorable results. Concerning the activities of Conference and Convention in Paris, Pendleton writes, “For some strange reason we in the Academy have ever been opposed and not infrequently slandered by those who ought to be our friends and brothers in the Church.” Yet Pendleton remains certain that Providence will open the way for the General Church to succeed. Names mentioned: Dr. and Mrs. Boyesen, Elie Hussenet, Olivia Hussenet
