Scope and Contents

Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Henry Heinrichs in Denver, CO, USA. Pendleton has received Heinrichs’ letter of Jan. 12 but was unable to reply until now as he has been preoccupied with the midyear meeting in Bryn Athyn. Pendleton reports much consternation over the “Hague doctrines” at the meetings again this year. Mr. (Albert) Bjorck submitted a paper in support of Mr. (Ernst) Pfeiffer’s ideas, and Pendleton wrote one against. Both papers will be published in the Life. In reference to the controversy, Pendleton states, “the fact is that our views are so different that there is no possibility of reconciling them.” Regarding Heinrichs and the situation in Denver, Pendleton wishes he could help, but the Church is not in a financial position to do so; All of the Church’s societies are struggling to maintain themselves financially. Pendleton hopes Heinrichs can work something out with the Denver society which will allow him to stay. Names mentioned: Mr. (Albert) Bjorck, Mr. (Ernst) Pfeiffer, Ruona (Roschman Heinrichs)
