Scope and Contents

Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Henry Heinrichs in Denver, CO, USA. Pendleton has received Heinrichs’ letter of December 1st. Pendleton hopes the Denver Society will adopt an appreciative yet conservative attitude towards Miss Hagar’s offer. Considering the ongoing Depression, Pendleton does not think it wise for the society to undertake the increased opperating expenses which accepting this gift would entail. Pendleton believes “if that offer holds, some conservative way will open whereby the Society may improve on its present location without taking on additional expenses.” In the meantime, Pendleton advises that Heinrichs’ primary concern should be maintaining harmony by preaching tolerance and avoiding heated discussion of the matter.
