Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Henry Heinrichs, 1931-04-20

Scope and Contents

Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Henry Heinrichs in Denver, CO, USA. Pendleton informs Heinrichs that he is authorized to begin making arrangements for another trip to the Northwest over the summer. Regarding the “social difficulty” in the Denver Society, Pendleton advises that Heinrichs simply carry on for the present as the matter of a pastor removing a member from his congregation requires further consideration. Pendleton writes that while Heinrichs may be correct that a priest has the power to remove members, they must take into account the “inevitable qualifications which arise when individual priests enter into a group relation. Always something is given over by the individual to the group necessities of administration.”
