Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Henry Heinrichs, 1929-12-09
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Henry Heinrichs in Denver, CO, USA. Pendleton reports that at the last Executive Committee meeting, it was decided that the Church would increase its support of Heinrichs to $1000 per year. They were also interested in Heinrichs’ suggestion that he take on part time work to help with his finances. Pendleton writes, “While I realize that the ideal thing is for a minister to be entirely sustained by means of his ecclesiastical labors, yet whenever this subject comes up . . . I am reminded of the fact that some of the greatest missionaries have in part sustained themselves by some hardy work.” The Church is especially anxious to come to a financial arrangement that works for Heinrichs because they have no other minister to send in his place if he leaves.
