Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Henry Heinrichs, 1923-09-20
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Henry Heinrichs in Denver, CO, USA. Pendleton acknowledges Heinrichs’ letter of August 30th. Pendleton writes that it is customary and useful for visiting ministers to send in reports of their trips. Pendleton explains that the Confession of Faith is a confirmation of baptism, and as such, “may therefore with propriety be performed by a minister of the first degree.” Pendleton writes that Heinrichs was not out of order, for he has been authorized to administer the Holy Supper and perform the marriage ceremony, pending his ordination into the second degree of the priesthood. Pendleton is interested in Heinrichs’ suggestion of an organization of isolated members in the North West; He recommends that Heinrichs let the idea “ripen in their minds for a while” before taking any concrete steps. Names mentioned: Mrs. (Ruona Roschman) Heinrichs
