Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Thomas S. Harris, 1915-05-25
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Thomas S. Harris in Abington, MA, USA. Pendleton has received a letter from Mr. Emil P. Gunther, secretary of the Baltimore Society, informing him that the Society has unanimously decided to extend a pastoral call to Harris. With aid from the Church Extension Fund, the Society can offer Harris a salary of at least $1000 per year. Gunther reports that there are currently no vacancies in the Arbutus settlement, so Harris would have to seek accommodations in the neighborhood. The Bishop feels that this arrangement would be good for the Church and would like to know if Harris will accept the call. It has been proposed that the Abington Society will be ministered to by monthly visits in Harris’ absence. Names mentioned: Mr. Emil P. Gunther
