Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Fred E. Gyllenhaal, 1931-03-02
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Fred E. Gyllenhaal in Toronto, Canada. Pendleton has received Gyllenhaal’s letters of Feb. 17th, 19th, and 26th. Pendleton is glad to hear that Gyllenhaal enjoyed the recent meetings. He reports that Gyllenhaal’s suggestion that one afternoon be devoted to questions and subjects relating to the schools was discussed at length in the Consistory, though they did not arrive at a conclusion. Karl (Alden) has made travel plans which include a stop in Toronto. Wynn Acton has been informed that he will be sent to Toronto for the summer and is pleased with this arrangement. Pendleton writes that Gyllenhaal’s suggestion regarding Dora Brown if Sylvia (Pemberton?) decides to come teach in Toronto is quite possible. Brown should submit to Pendleton an application for a “Teacher’s Scholarship” which will entitle her to tuition, board, and lodging in the dormitory. Names mentioned: Karl (Alden), Gilbert (Smith?), Wynn Acton, Dora Brown, Sylvia (Pemberton?)
