Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Fred E. Gyllenhaal, 1930-09-12
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Fred E. Gyllenhaal in Toronto, Canada. Pendleton discusses the possibility of setting up a General Church center in Montreal, Canada. He will ask the Church to cover Gyllenhaal’s travel expenses to Montreal at the next committee meeting, and in the meantime, he guarantees that Gyllenhaal’s expenses will be covered if he wishes to make a preliminary trip. Pendleton is pleased that Gyllenhaal has accepted the position of editor of New Church sermons. Pendleton is disappointed that there are parents in the Toronto Society who are not sending their children to the society school, but he writes that he had a similar issue with the Pittsburgh school when he first arrived there. Pendleton reports that the Academy schools in Bryn Athyn have just opened for the year with good enrollment. He notes that Agnes and Zoe, Gyllenhaal’s wife and daughter, have now sailed for South Africa. Names mentioned: Mrs. (Viola W.) Rennels, Agnes (Pemberton Gyllenhaal), Zoe (Gyllenhaal Simmons)
