Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Fred E. Gyllenhaal, 1923-10-30
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Fred E. Gyllenhaal in London, England. Pendleton acknowledges Gyllenhaal’s letter of Oct. 30th with enclosures. Pendleton discusses the difficulties involved with the possibility of Mr. Deltenre transferring to England to help Gyllenhaal; Some in Colchester feel that Mr. Deltenre is too “foreign,” and both Deltenre and Gyllenhaal will probably suffer financial losses. In case Mr. Deltenre does move, Pendleton would like Gyllenhaal to remain in London, the center of New Church affairs in England. Pendleton does not think it is necessary to accept Gyllenhaal’s resignation as Pastor of the Colchester Society until Deltenre officially agrees to move there. Pendleton is interested in the potential building project in Colchester. Names mentioned: Mr. (Ernst) Deltenre, Mr. Colley Pryke, Mr. Theodore (Pitcairn)
