Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Fred E. Gyllenhaal, 1920-11-09
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Fred E. Gyllenhaal in London, England. Pendleton discussed the Glanville bequest with Mr. (R. J.) Tilson while Tilson was visiting; The Glanville will stipulates that the money be used to support New Church education in England. Tilson and Gyllenhaal should discuss opening a school, preferably one that can serve both the Peckham Rye group and Mr. Tilson’s people. Pendleton is pleased that Gyllenhaal has been able to preach at both Peckham Rye and Colchester every Sunday. Pendleton has just returned from a trip West and feels particularly hopeful about the future of the New Church group in Cincinnati. The Academy schools are larger than ever this year, with a total of 236 students. The Academy is short-staffed due to the absences of Mr. Acton and Mr. (Reginald) Brown, and the retirement of Miss Alice (Grant). Names mentioned: Rev. (R. J.) Tilson, Glanville, Mr. Acton, Mr. (Reginald W.) Brown, Miss Alice (Grant)
