Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Willis L. Gladish in Chicago, IL, USA. Pendleton has received Gladish’s letter of Nov. 22nd. Pendleton find’s Gladish’s criticisms of Mr. (Ernst) Pfeiffer’s “elucidations” frank and to the point, but he disagrees with Gladish’s belief that the no essential heresy can arise if one maintains the divinity of the Writings and the Lord. Pendleton argues, “Heresy consists of the over-growth of one truth at the expense of others.” Pendleton reports the Hugo (Odhner) has written a review of Pfeiffer’s book, reflecting the views of most in Bryn Athyn, which will be published in the January issue of the New Church Life.
