Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Gaston J. Fercken, 1917-09-08
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Gaston J. Fercken in Lausanne, Switzerland. Pendleton recommends the Fercken direct his missionary efforts towards Geneva instead of Lausanne as he sees little point in trying to maintain a General Church presence in Lausanne in opposition to the followers of M. de Chazal and M. Regamey. In Bryn Athyn, Pendleton reports that they are preparing for the opening of the schools in September; Twenty of the half scholarship pupils have already arrived to help prepare the buildings. This year they will have a record number of girls in the Glenn Hall dormitory and a large number of local students as well. The Boy’s Academy will have lower numbers however as several boys have been called to serve in the Army.
