Identifier: RG.004.01

Scope and Contents

Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Ernst Deltenre in Brussels, Belgium. Pendleton regrets that no conclusion has been reached about sending a minister to Mauritius. Mr. (Eldred) Iungerich is the only one who could go on short notice, but now it appears he may be needed in Stockholm as Mr. Stroh is slow in recovering. Pendleton wishes the Mauritians could send a young man to Bryn Athyn to train for the ministry as this would present a permanent solution. Deltenre will see from the latest issue of the Life that the debate about the bodies of spirits and angels has reached the “open forum stage”. Pendleton reports that Deltenre’s letters are of great interest in Bryn Athyn; Mr. Pitcairn reads them aloud every Friday night. Pendleton congratulates Deltenre on the connection made with two new young people, Mademoiselle Maryla Winska and Monsieur Gaillard. In Bryn Athyn, Pendleton has just come out of quarantine and his youngest son Willard is recovering from severe scarlet fever. Names mentioned: Mr. (Eldred) Iungerich, Mr. Stroh, Mr. Pitcairn, Mademoiselle Maryla Winska, Monsieur Gaillard, Willard (Pendlton), Mrs. (Beatrice) Pendleton, Mrs. Deltenre
