Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Ernst Deltenre, 1914-03-24
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Ernst Deltenre in Brussels, Belgium. Pendleton has received a translation of Deltenre’s report of March 6th from Mr. Pitcairn. Pendleton was pleased to hear of Deltenre’s visit to Lausanne and of the potential new field there for the Church. Pendleton also thinks Mauritius presents an interesting opportunity for the Church. While Deltenre would be the best person the Church could send to Mauritius, those in Bryn Athyn feel that work in the Brussels Mission is too important to interrupt. Mr. (Eldred) Iungerich will be working in Paris over the summer, and it may be possible to send him to Mauritius afterwards. Fred Gyllenhaal is currently traveling to his new post in Durban via Australia, and he will pass through Mauritius on the way. Pendleton will keep Deltenre’s report of the complaints against Dr. Fercken confidential as he wants people in Bryn Athyn to be able to make their own judgements about Fercken when he arrives there next fall. Names mentioned: Mr. Pitcairn, Baron Pierre de Chazal, Dr. Lucien de Chazal, Mr. (Eldred) Iungerich, Fred E. Gyllenhaal, Dr. Fercken. M. Balcaen, Mrs. (Beatrice) Pendleton, Madame Deltenre
