Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. George DeCharms, 1931-07-15
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. George DeCharms in Colchester, England. Care of Rev. Victor J. Gladish. Pendleton has received DeCharms’ last letter. Pendleton is looking forward to hearing DeCharms’ impressions of his visit to the Hague. Pendleton mentions the recent meetings he attended in Pittsburgh; There was interesting discussion resulting from two papers about cause and potential cure of the distressed state of the world. Pendleton reports on the state of the Church in Kitchener; He found the controversy over finalizing building plans more defined and distressing than he expected. Alan Gill has come under criticism from the Kitchener Society for his handling of the situation. Gill is apparently seriously sick and will be leaving for three months of absolute rest. Pendleton has tried to diffuse tensions by suggesting the society let the matter drop and pick it up again at a roundtable discussion in the fall.
