Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton's secretary, Freda Pendleton, to Rev. Andrew Czerny in Brooklyn, New York, USA. The Bishop has asked F. Pendleton to write to the Bureau of Citizenship as Czerny requested in his letter of Sept. 6th. F. Pendleton encloses a copy of this letter. W.F. Pendleton says they enjoyed having Czerny with them in Ocean City and were sorry this his visit was so short. Enclosure: Freda Pendleton to the Bureau of Citizenship, Washington, D.C.Rev. Czerny has been unable to obtain a passport and has been detained in the US while trying to return to England. Although he was born in Vienna, Czerny came to the US as a child and is a loyal citizen. He has been serving as a minister of the General Church of the New Jerusalem for the past 16 years in England and hopes to return there to continue his work. Pendleton requests the Bureau’s aid in procuring a passport.
