Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. William B. Caldwell, 1917-05-05
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. William B. Caldwell in Glenview, IL, USA. Pendleton has received Caldwell’s letters of March 22nd and 26th with enclosed membership application for Crebert Burnham. Pendleton writes that the problems Caldwell has noted because of an influx of new families who are not trained in the Academy ideals are common. Pendleton believes that as the Church grows, “Academy principles will prove themselves by their ability to vivify and regenerate the mass which will thus be gathered.” Pendleton is glad to hear of Harvey Brewer’s renewed interest in the Church. Mr. Doering has agreed to send out Consistory minutes to absent members. Pendleton asks if Caldwell will preach in Bryn Athyn on June 24th, at which time there will be ordinations in to first and second degrees. Names mentioned: Crebert Burnham, Mrs. Bishop, Harvey Brewer, Mr. Doering
