Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Hendrik W. Boef in Los Angeles, CA, USA. Pendleton acknowledges Boef’s letter of Feb. 16th. Pendleton thinks Boef will have received word by now from Mr. Hyatt about the financial aid granted by the General Church; Boef should now be in a position to undertake his new pastoral duties. Pendleton discusses the General Church view on the Writings; The Church holds that they are divine truths, “continuous from the Lord, and that as such they contain all the truths pertaining to the several heavens, and indeed, in mostly the truth that is above the heavens.” However, Pendleton believes it is limiting and misleading to say that the Writings have an internal sense. In Bryn Athyn, the school has been closed for three weeks because of the measles and scarlet fever.
