Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Albert Bjorck, 1927-12-02
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Albert Bjorck in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Pendleton has received Bjorck’s letter of Nov. 6th with enclosed correspondence between him and Mr. (R. J.) Tilson. Pendleton finds Bjorck’s response to Tilson’s first letter, “a model of critical frankness and at the same time of the good will of friendship.” There has been some controversy amongst the Colchester society about Pendleton choosing to elevate Tilson’s status to Bishop. Despite his flaws, Pendleton does not regret choosing Tilson for the position, but he is worried that antagonism against Tilson may be deeper than he thought. Pendleton is sorry to hear that Bjorck may not be able to attend the Assembly because of his health.
