Scope and Contents

Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Gerrit Barger in the Hague, Holland. Pendleton has received Barger’s letter of July 14th giving more information about Mr. Fluiter. Pendleton called together members of the Extension Committee, and it was decided that Mr. Pitcairn will pay Fluiter’s traveling expenses so that he may come to the US and study for the ministry in Bryn Athyn. If Fluiter accepts this offer and departs almost immediately, Pendleton thinks he may arrive in time for the Theological School opening on October 1st. Pendleton hopes Fluiter will prove to be “another Deltenre”. Bager’s son, Gerrit, has gone to the army encampment in Georgia, along with several other boys from Bryn Athyn. Pendleton thinks Mrs. Barger will be happy to know that Gerrit is thought of highly by his peers in the army.
