Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Gerrit Barger, 1915-03-01
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Gerrit Barger in the Hague, Holland. Pendleton acknowledges receipt of Barger’s letters of Nov. 24th and Jan 28th, both of which have been read to the Consistory; The Consistory was pleased at the opportunity to publicly lecture on the Heavenly Doctrines in Holland. Pendleton would like to know if this has ever been done before. Pendleton hopes to hear from Barger about the success of his lectures in the Hague and Rotterdam. Barger’s son, Gerrit, has given Pendleton a copy of Barger’s translation of the second of the Four Leading Doctrines (“De Leer Van Het Nieuwe Jeruzalem, over De Heilige Schrift”). Neither Barger nor Pendleton have received any word from Rev. Ernst Deltenre; Pendleton does not know how long the way will be closed, and in the meantime, they can only pray for the best for Deltenre and his family. Mr. Pitcairn is away on a three-month trip around South America.
