Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Gustaf Baeckström, 1931-05-19
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Gustaf Baeckström in Stockholm, Sweden. Pendleton is saddened over the death of Mr. Bronniche and hopes that Baeckstrom will be able to step in and help with Bronniche’s society if needed, in the same way that Bronniche helped with the Stockholm Society from time to time. Pendleton has read Baeckstrom’s account of the “other” (i.e. Convention?) Stockholm Society with interest. The society has suffered from many disturbances and seems to be “infested with a spirit of dissention.” Pendleton is relieved to hear that Miss Senta (Centervall) is recovering. Pendleton does not remember Mr. Smart, but Bishop De Charms speaks highly of him; Pendleton hopes he will be restored to health and his place in the Stockholm Society. It has been a hard year all around the world, and Pendleton prays that they are given the strength to meet the challenges of the future. Pendleton thanks Baeckstrom for his pamphlet, “Bibelns Underverk”, which has just arrived.
