Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Gustaf Baeckström , 1925-06-30
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Gustaf Baeckström in Stockholm, Sweden. Pendleton has read in a letter from Miss (Senta) Centervall that Mr. and Mrs. Liden have been in a serious automobile accident. Pendleton has been busy attending meetings and giving speeches at banquets for the past two months. The Sons of the Academy recently met in Pittsburgh, and members from Bryn Athyn, Canada, Chicago, and elsewhere drove there in automobiles. Pendleton took a party from Bryn Athyn in his auto. Pendleton’s daughter Jean has married Mr. Samuel Croft; The couple departed Bryn Athyn in a flying machine. The Crofts are not a New Church family, but Samuel has been baptized, and Pendleton hopes he will enter more fully into New Church life in time. Pendleton has enjoyed hearing about Baeckstrom’s lectures; He thinks “Homeward Bound” or “Outward Bound” is a good practical topic because everyone is curious about what happens after death. Miss Sigrid Odhner has left on her trip to England and Sweden.
