Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Gustaf Baeckström, 1923-12-27
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Gustaf Baeckström in Stockholm, Sweden. Pendleton acknowledges Baeckstrom’s letter and report of Dec. 5th. Pendleton notes Baeckstrom’s point about the decline of interest in spiritual mysteries in Sweden over the last few years. Pendleton believes this was to be expected after the end of the war, now that life is getting back to normal. Pendleton foresees the slow and steady growth of the Stockholm Society in the future. Pendleton and his wife (Beatrice) are hoping to visit Sweden again next summer. In Bryn Athyn, the had a good Christmas except for the death of Raymond and Mildred Pitcairn’s 8-year-old son, Ivan, the day before Christmas. Pendleton appreciates Baeckstrom dedicating his book “the Invisible Word” to him (Pendleton), and would be proud to have a copy of it.
