Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Gustaf Baeckström in Stockholm, Sweden. Pendleton acknowledges Baeckstrom’s letter of June 16th. Pendleton agrees with Baeckstrom that the slanders about the Church which have been circulating in Sweden do not merit a response; Public replies are rarely effective because those who want to believe the slanders will believe them anyway, and those who do not want to believe them wont. Pendleton has not been able to read this most recent attack yet, but Mr. Ahlberg is making a translation. The Elementary School teaches have just returned from a series of meetings in Toronto where Mr. Synnestvedt presided in Pendleton’s place. The Son’s of the Academy also met in Toronto and elected a new set of officers; Geoffrey Childs was elected President. Pendleton worries about the future of Bryn Athyn as it grows and new families move in who are less invested in the Church.
