Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Gustaf Baeckström, 1916-01-24
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Gustaf Baeckström in Stockholm, Sweden. Pendleton acknowledges Baeckstrom's letter of Dec. 7th; Pendleton is not surprised that some of the people in the Stockholm Circle are hesitant about accepting the doctrine of the eternity of the hells, due to the "propaganda" of Mr. (Albert?) Bjorck several years ago. Bjorck has now changed his position. Pendleton finds the record of attendence very encouraging, and is interested in Baeckstrom's way of advertising. In Bryn Athyn, they are preparing for a General Assembly in June. Pendleton hopes that someday they will have an Assembly with representatives from all the Churches in Europe and America. Mr. (John) Pitcairn's health is somewhat improved and he continues to be active in Chruch affairs, but Pendleton does not think he will make a full recovery. Dr. Fercken seems to be establishing a Church center in Lausanne, and is making progress in Geneva.
