Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Elmo C. Acton, 1932-08-02

Identifier: RG.004.01

Scope and Contents

Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Elmo C. Acton in Durban, Natal, South Africa. Acton's letter has arrived at Indian Lake in the Adirondacks where Pendleton is encamped for the summer. Pendleton describes the weather and how he bought his piece of land there from and old farmer. Pendleton finds Acton's letter and report interesting; Acton makes an excellent point as to why he has started teaching the subject of the "Spiritual World" in his doctrinal class. As Acton wrote in his letter, all pastors may become discouraged, but Pendleton believes they may be doing unseen good. Pendleton notes that the Church has been affected by the Great Depression, but "after the night, the moringing comes." Pendleton is sorry about Moffat (Mcanyana?) as he always seemed like a stong and relieble man to Pendleton. Pendleton asks if Moffat had any trouble with Mr. Frazee. Pendleton is glad to hear that William Ridgway will be working for the Mission in Zululand. The letter ends with good wishes from Pendleton and Mrs. (Beatrice) Pendleton to Acton and Ione (Acton).
