Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Elmo C. Acton, 1930-12-04
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Elmo C. Acton in Durban, Natal, South Africa. Pendleton acknowledges Acton's letter of October 20th. Pendleton is happy to hear that church members in Durban would like to have regular Assemblies. Pendleton is now calling for a South African Assembly, and he would like Acton to act as Secretary and Mr. (Frederick) Elphick to be presiding officer, acting in Pendleton's place. Pendleton writes, "Our theory of an Assembly is that it is the Bishop's meeting with the members of the General Church in any given locality." A duplicate letter will be sent to Mr. (Frederik) Elphick. P.S. The time and date of the Assembly are flexible.
