Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Elmo C. Acton, 1929-06-26
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Elmo C. Acton in Durban, Natal, South Africa. After the end of school year meetings and a visit to Pittsburgh, Pendleton is making final preparations for his trip to South Africa. Pendleton looks forward to seeing everyone in South Africa again. This will be Mrs. (Beatrice) Pendleton's frist trip as she did not come with Pendleton to Durban 10 years ago. Eric Ridgeway is back in Philadelphia and has his old job back. The Frazee family has arrived in Bryn Athyn, and they do not know if they will be returning to South Africa. In July, the Pendletons, with Mr. (Theo) Pitcairn and Mrs. (Marijke) Pitcairn, will sail to Paris, the Hague, and Switzerland before proceeding to Durban, arriving Sept. 6th. Pendleton hopes Mr. (Frederick) Elphick will attend the African Assembly so they may discuss which native South Aftricans to ordain. Pendleton ends the letter with best wishes to Acton, Ione (Acton), and Durban friends.
