Alden recommends also purchasing New Church Life for August 1909 containing Academy comments about Convention's "Declaration," summarizes difference of how Writings viewed, Divine or not. Convention quote in Messenger referenced that "the New Church would not prosper till it 'cut loose from the Swedenborgian dock and sailed for the open sea.'"
