Letter to John Waelchly (Waelchli), 1885 April 17
Scope and Contents
Original. Written in Philadelphia. Sending a draft of a Constitution for the Church that is hoped to be formed in Allentown. Notes that this calls for a "Church" rather than a "Society." Constitution should be simple, as "not much is needed when people are orderly and believe the Truth." The by-laws can be altered at any time as neccessary. Establishes the function, make-up, and proposed members of the Council of Pastors and the Council of Laity. Dr. Hibbard will be able to stay in Allentown until April 25 but not return until after the Convention. People and places mentioned: Allentown, Mr Glakemeyer (?), Mr. Kessler (?), Mr. Wilder (?), ,Mr. Gerhard (?), Mr. Zeppenfeld (?), Dr. Hibbard, Mr. Tafel's family
