Pendleton has received Waelchli’s letter of January 9th. He notes that the passing of each day decreases the likelihood of Waelchli attending the mid-year meetings in Bryn Athyn. Pendleton thinks Waelchli will be interested to know that Mr. Gladish plans to visit Mr. Petersen on his way to Bryn Athyn for the meetings. Pendleton will read Waelchli’s letter to the Consistory today, but he does not think they are in a position to send someone South in Waelchli’s place. He suggests Waelchli, “Let that, along with other church matters, go for the present.” He asks Waelchli to give his love to Alena and he instructs Waelchli to rest as easy as he is able.
