Yesterday, Pendleton read aloud to the Consistory Waelchli’s report of his trip south. They found his comments “enlivening.” Pendleton writes, “I think your description of Mr. Fritz swaying back and forth, on his feet, holding forth to Mr. Gustafson on the subject of the deadness of Convention, is a masterpiece.” Pendleton explains they did not read Waelchli’s report sooner due to the “Pfeiffer discussion” which took precedence.
