Identifier: RG.004.01

Scope and Contents

Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Fred E. Waelchli in Wyoming, Ohio, USA. Two copies, one on General Church of the New Jerusalem letterhead. Yesterday, Pendleton read aloud to the Consistory Waelchli’s report of his trip south. They found his comments “enlivening.” Pendleton writes, “I think your description of Mr. Fritz swaying back and forth, on his feet, holding forth to Mr. Gustafson on the subject of the deadness of Convention, is a masterpiece.” Pendleton explains they did not read Waelchli’s report sooner due to the “Pfeiffer discussion” which took precedence. The Consistory minutes will give Waelchli a general idea of the matter, “which may assume considerable importance in the future, or it may not, depending upon how far it goes.” Names mentioned: Mr. (Joachim) Fritz, Mr. (Frank) Gustafson, (Ernst) Pfeiffer
