Identifier: RG.004.01

Scope and Contents

Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Fred E. Waelchli in Los Angeles, California, USA. Pendleton arrived in New York yesterday and has received Waelchli’s letter of September 8th. Pendleton thinks Waelchli’s advice to Henry (Boef) was “just the right thing” given the circumstances. Pendleton has heard from Mrs. Rennels that Boef has been ill recently, and he hopes Boef will report on October 8th in good condition. Waelchli’s news concerning the death of Colon Schott took Pendleton by surprise. Pendleton agrees the loss of Schott will change the Cincinnati circle, but he is happy to hear how the young men have stepped up to take his place. In Bryn Athyn, everyone is gathering for the start of another school year. Pendleton hopes Waelchli will have a pleasant and useful trip west. Names mentioned: Henry (Boef), Mrs. (Viola Wolcott) Rennels, Colon Schott, Colon (Schott?) Jr., Walter (Childs?)
