Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Fred E. Waelchli, 1928-05-08
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Fred E. Waelchli in Wyoming, Ohio, USA. Pendleton has received the following from Waelchli: Waelchli’s letter of April 26th, a letter to Waelchli from Annie Unruh, a formal letter by Unruh to the Bishop requesting a Pastor for Los Angeles, and Waelchli’s report of April 28th. Pendleton would like to send a pastor to Los Angeles, but both the General Church and the Academy are pressed for funds. Pendleton will bring the matter before the Executive Committee at its next meeting. Pendleton approves of the idea being considered by the Detroit group for a “New Church Life Club.” He regrets that the Erie group may finally dissolve after a long struggle. He hopes to have Hugo (Odhner) in Bryn Athyn as an assistant pastor and as a teacher for the Academy. Pendleton was sorry to miss Mr. Merrell’s visit to Bryn Athyn but he was in New York at the time. Names mentioned: Annie Unruh, (Eldred) Iungerich, Hugo (Odhner), Mr. (Charles) Merrell
