Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Fred E. Waelchli, 1925-04-29
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Fred E. Waelchli in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. Pendleton has received Waelchli’s letters of February 21st, March 26th, April 11th and 13th, and his April 11th report of his trip south. The Pendleton family was very grateful for Waelchli’s visit to Valdosta, Georgia; Pendleton comments, “It seems almost a special Providence that you came to Valdosta just before my brother’s death. He was greatly benefitted by it and doubtless spiritually prepared for entrance into the other life.” Pendleton traveled to Valdosta with his brother Louis to deliver the funeral service. From there, he traveled to Columbus to see Alan and Marion. Pendleton thinks Waelchli will have been informed by now of the increase in his salary. It was approved by the Executive Committee with a “feeling of appreciation” for his work. Funding has also been approved for Waelchli’s summer trip west. Names mentioned: Louis (Pendleton), Alan (Oriel Alan Pendleton), Marion (Marion Childs Pendleton)
