A2013.02.21.0009 Toilette Sample Kit, c. 1885
Scope and Contents
A small boxed set of toiletries from Luxor Perfumers. Possibly obtained at a hotel, this small 2" x 4" box contains a tube of tooth paste, tube of cold cream, extra fine complexion powder, cold cream complexion powder and a bottle of "luxor bouquet" toilet water (still sealed, but evaporated). There is a raised emblem on the front of the box with the name Schrafft's barely legible with a female face surrounded by long hair. Schrafft's was a Boston candy company that operated a string of mid-priced restaurants in New York City. They operated a retail counter for baked goods and sweets.
