-Land of Smoke (i.e. Pittsburgh?) safely reached after pleasant evening in Lancaster
-so far, has only seen Father Matthias of the Pittsburgh crew; tomorrow, will “beg our Academic phalanx to drink to the happiness of the Philadelphia saints- who have contributed so much to mine- and the chances are more than even that they will not refuse for they seldom wound the feelings of a weak (?) brother- in that way.”
