Handwritten letter from Walter C. Childs in Philadelphia, PA to John Pitcairn, Jr. 2 pages, double-sided. Handwriting difficult to decipher in places.

Contents: -first letter received from Egypt -has asked Spiers (Speirs?) for criticisms of 2nd issue of Serial (Words for the New Church) so that they can improve 3rd issue -General (J. P. Stuart) requesting support from Mr. Bower’s Frankford congregation to move from Vineland to Philadelphia so that he can be more present at Academy -boy Carter delighted with effects of baptism & intends coming to church every other week -Aunt Fan Kellogg spoke with Mr. Ager regarding intention to be baptized; Ager asked her to consider whether one Christian baptism wasn’t enough; if she decides to be baptized, General should do it -Louis says Ager unsound on procreation question; unsurprising to find agreement with Old Church on other points -school report: generally going well, although Childs had to tell off Doctor B. for confronting the General on a doctrinal point while the General was instructing his class
